The Seward Department of Motor Vehicles is a City of Seward Office that is contracted with the State of Alaska to provide motor vehicle services to the Seward area. This is a limited employee office, so the hours are subject to change. Please check the message to confirm the daily schedule at 907-224-4037.

Mon – Fri 9am – 4pm

Closed for lunch 1:30 – 2:30

Closed on Saturdays until further notice.



Written tests available M-F 9:00am - 1:00pm and 2:30pm - 3:30pm.

All road tests are by appointment only. The appointments must be made in person prior to test day.

General road tests are given year round Wednesday mornings from 9-11:30am.

Motorcycle road tests are only given June, July, and August the 1st Thursday of the month from 9-11:30am.
