Seward Alaska Police Department

Welcome to the Seward Police Department's Website

Seward, with a population of 2,800 people, is located at the head of Resurrection Bay. Commercial and recreational ports, the terminus for the Alaska Railroad, and the annual Fourth of July festivities bring thousands of visitors to the area each year.

The Seward Police Department was established on June 18, 1912. The department operates the Seward Community Jail and dispatches for the Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corp, three fire departments including Seward Fire, Bear Creek Volunteer Fire, and Moose Pass Fire Departments, the Alaska State Troopers, the Coast Guard, U.S. Forest and National Park Service, the Alaska Railroad, and Seward city departments. The Agency is the hub in emergency situations, coordinating all emergency services and civil defense.

The Seward Police Department is a member of the Kenai Peninsula Crimestoppers.
