Continuing the Legacy of 100
Years of the Iditarod
National Historic Trail
When: Saturday, February 2nd
and Sunday, February 3rd
Where: Seward, Alaska
Seward, Alaska is home to “milepost 0”
of the Iditarod National Historic Trail. First scouted in 1908, the trail
eventually was built into an overland route to Nome which accessed the Iditarod
Gold Fields. Please help us celebrate the epic achievements made possible by
the Trail through participating in Iditarod Days. For more information or to

After School Program
The Teen & Youth Center
staff is proud to offer this high quality, fairly priced, fun-filled program for
elementary youth. A.S.P. emphasizes academic enrichment, creative arts,
environmental science, sports, homework help, outdoor play, music appreciation,
computers and social enhancement. Participants are invited to join us for daily

Knit Out and Crochet 2008
Do you like to knit or
crochet? Or maybe want to learn how to? Join Community Schools for our first
annual “Knit Out and Crochet Day” at the Seward Senior Center! Our instructor of
the Yarn Arts; Becky Buchanan, will be available to help you start your projects
and give you valuable tips when working on knitting and crochet. Bring family
and friends for a morning of good times and share a skill that will pass away

create your own crocheted projects? Take a Beginning Crochet Class with
Instructor Becky Buchanan and learn the basics for creating your own work of
art!

leads the kids in a fun session of creating a variety of Valentine cards! *Just
