children's enjoyment.
Note that playgrounds are designed for various ages of children.

* Forest Acres Playground
A
small playground with a small wooden play structure. Not fenced. Park on Dimond
Boulevard, near the restroom. Also to the south of the restrooms are the tennis
court, basketball hoops and Bittick BMX Track.
* Gateway Park - Dora Way Playground
A true neighborhood playground
with access and ADA parking, Gateway Park was completed in 2000. Several play
pieces including climbing structures and an old-fashioned carousel. Enjoy the
picnic table, as well. Follow Bear Drive, west to it's end at Phoenix. Turn
right on Phoenix past the old Jesse Lee Home abandoned orphanage. Turn left onto
Dora way, and the playground sits in the crook of the first turn, before the
uphill climb. Keep your eyes opened for bear or moose. No sidewalk access. As
with all SPRD playgrounds, adult supervision is strongly recommended.
We are proud to work with to build a new, kid-designed playground on our beach.
Track their
progress and efforts and sign up to volunteer.
The build is scheduled May 13 - 20, 2008.
