| Public Parking Lots As you would expect, the City of Seward offers ADA parking, exceeding required limits, in all harbor area parking lots. | |
| The South Lot
Between South Harbor Street, 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue
(the Seward Highway) Close to most services, this is the preferred lot for all day shopping, fishing or sight-seeing. The South Lot is the most-used lot, with almost 200 spaces. The middle rows allow for big trucks and pull-throughs for trailers. The entrance is at the south end of the parking lot, on 4th Avenue. Each space is numbered. Go to either, white pay-box and drop your $5 into the number corresponding with your space number. If your longer vehicle or trailer takes up two spaces, you must pay $5 for each space. As with all our lots except the NorthEast lot, if you leave the space you paid, you must pay again.
| The Center Lot
Off 4th Avenue, between South Harbor and North Harbor Streets The Center Lot offers 2-hour, temporary parking. The lot is provided for quick convenience, not all day parking. No vehicles over 19 feet long allowed in the Center lot. Special, seasonal parking permits are not allowed in this lot, other than the Commercial Vehicle permit. Head-in parking only. Do not park bumper over the sidewalk. Those who violate time restrictions may be towed or ticketed.
| The North Lot Between North Harbor Street
and Port Ave, between 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue Close to most services, this is another preferred lot for all day shopping, fishing, sight-seeing or business. The North Lot offers nearly 200 spaces. The far-north row allows for big trucks and RVs. The new configuration does not support trailers. The entrance is in the middle of the parking lot, off 4th Avenue.
| The NorthEast Lot Port Avenue Once the customer discovers the NorthEast Lot, he/she is sold on its conveniences. The NorthEast Lot is the working-person's lot, plenty of space, a good bargain, no fancy numbering system and perhaps an easier launch into the Harbor. There are plenty of pull-through spaces and site spaces are a generous width to allow your loading and unloading. The customer takes a white, fee envelope from the provided box at the top of the launch ramp. Fill out the envelope completely, add your $5 per day to the envelope and seal it. Next, tear the removable pay tab off the envelope and place the payment coupon in your windshield, so it is visible to parking staff. Finally, drop the envelope into the pay box at the top of the launch. Benefits of the NorthEast Lot: * Two spaces for the price of one (Great if your vehicle is long, or if you're pulling a trailer) * If you leave your space, your pay envelope stub is good for that day, when you return to another space. | |
| The New South Harbor Uplands Lot This new uplands lot serves the new, Harbor float system in the south area of the Small Boat Harbor. The lot was opened to pass holders the late-summer 2007. There are some pull-through spaces and site spaces are generous width to allow your loading and unloading. The customer takes a white, fee envelope from the provided box in the middle of the lot. Fill out the envelope completely, add your $5 per day to the envelope and seal it. Next, tear the removable pay tab off the envelope and place the payment coupon in your windshield, so it is visible to parking staff. Finally, drop the envelope into the pay box in the middle of the lot. No overnight Parking. Violators may be towed, ticketed. | |
| The Permit Lot Not for public use. Located just past the boat launch, off 4th Avenue, this lot is for Harbor area permit-holders only. A seasonal pass must be displayed at all times. This lot is also the entrance/exit to Seaview Camping area, a portion of Waterfront Park campground.
