SPRD Policies

1. Drug-Free Zones. Our indoor facilities are drug-free zones, as required by state law.  Anyone under the influence or using drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave these SPRD facilities:  Sports & Rec. (AVTEC gym), the Teen & Youth Center, and Community Schools.  In addition, it is our policy to prohibit smoking any facility supervised by SPRD.  Please refrain from these activities while near our programs.  Smoking and alcohol are not allowed at the Little League field or the High School field.

2. Use Proper Language. Since we are providing good role models for other users of these facilities, we appreciate proper language.  Please refrain from using profanity. Racial slurs are NEVER, EVER appropriate.

3. Pay Before you Play. As you arrive the facility, your first responsibility is to pay for the program.

4.  Children at Age Appropriate Activities. Here at Parks & Rec we love kids! However the Sports & Rec department doesn't always have appropriate activities for the young crowd. Throughout our week have age appropriate gym times where we have enough staff to supervise youth. We can not allow kids to "hang out" at SPRD during adult gym or any other times that we don't offer age appropriate activities.

All other site policies are posted and in our brochure.  Ask if you have questions!

Youth Scholarship Fund

Funds are available through contributions, gifts, local businesses, and private citizens for scholarships which allow kids to enjoy activities they otherwise could not afford. To apply, contact Director, Karin Sturdy at SPRD, 224.4053. Donations to the Youth Scholarship Fund are always needed and welcomed. Our policy is that as funds allow, $100 per quarter, per family will be awarded. Also, in the event of an award, the recipient is responsible for 10% of the regular registration fee.

Facility Rental

Rent the gym, the Teen & Youth Center, Community Schools or other facilities for a birthday party, family outing, or with your favorite group of friends. Simply contact the program office with your ideas, and we'll arrange the rest. Indoor rental fees start from $10-$20 per hour as a base price. Pavilion fees start with a $25 reservation fee, with extra hours costing more. One week's notice is great; we'll need 48 hours at a minimum.

Registration

You can register for classes, events, and tournaments at any SPRD site. You will be required to submit a registration form and a signed waiver along with the class fee. Generally, you can save money paying the earlybird fee, about one week earlier. Pre-registration is easy and essential to each class's success. The earlier you register, the better it is for the instructor. Please see each class for class fee.

Payment Information: Credit Card

Fees vary for different programs. Please go to the program you are interested in to see applicable fees.

Credit cards are accepted for programs and events. To use a credit card to pay please stop by  a program site or call 224-4054 with the necessary information.  We accept Visa, Master Card and Discover cards.

*If it is indicated to pay the class instructor directly, as in many Community Schools programs, you cannot pay by credit card.
