Volunteer opportunities ABOUND at SPRD!
I want to work with kids.
I like to work with adults.
I know computers, but I want to work alone.

I want to work outside.
I cannot drive.
We have a place for you!

We will require volunteers submit a Criminal History Record, per State Law requirement, and obviously, you won't be driving vehicles without a license, but we feel confidant we can get you hooked up with a job you love.

Fill out the Volunteer Application form, be honest, and if we don't phone you right away, please follow-up with a call to us. A long-term commitment works great in positions which require extensive training, but we need one-day or one-hour event volunteers, too.

Here are some ideas: teach a Community Schools class; check-out roller skates; run a race time clock; be a swimming lap counter; pick up litter; drive the TYC ASP van; shoot pool with teens; traffic control at races; cashier at the customer service window; score & time UYBL kids hoops; maintain the ice rink; referee youth sports; snow-blow the boardwalk; coach a youth team; paint parks & rec out-buildings; data entry or other computer skills; play games with kids; hand out t-shirts; register participants; fix broken roller skates; skate guard; DJ youth dance....and many more we probably haven't thought of.... Give us a call, 224-4054.

Community Service (court-appointed) is obviously different than volunteering. Due to the nature of our work and mission, and per City policy, all persons interested in working for SPRD for community service must start first at the City's personnel office, 224.4047.
