Seward Community Library Association hosts a book sale and presents the 1964 Earthquake documentary every summer between Memorial Day to Labor Day. These presentations are the major fund raisers for the library. All profits go to buying books and media and supporting the programs of the Seward Community Library.
1964 Earthquake Movie - Waves Over Seward
The movie is shown every day, starting after Memorial Day and ending before Labor Day, at 2:00 p.m. The cost is $3.00 per person. Children under 12 are FREE. Waves Over Seward, released in 2009, details the 1964 Earthquake in Alaska, and its effects on Seward. This short film lasts approximately 25 minutes.
Book Sale in the Basement
This summer our books are half price! The book sale is located in the basement of the library. Books are available to buy during our open hours, between Memorial Day through Labor Day. The sale closes 30 minutes before library closure every day.
Many of the available books are donated by patrons cleaning out their closets and shelves. Also, a portion of materials are weeded from our own library shelves.
