The Seward Community Library is a department of the City of Seward (pop. approx. 3,000) and provides both physical and virtual materials in a safe, secure facility that serves the educational and informational needs of our patrons in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Our 4595 library cardholders have access to 30,000 volumes including videos, recorded books, and music, computer CDs and DVD's.

Most books and materials can be checked out for three weeks. Videos/DVDs are checked out for three days. Material can be renewed by telephone or at the desk.

Overdue fines are $0.20/day for books and $1.00/day for videos.

What internet services are available at Seward Community Library?

There are four public access computers at the library. These are available for 30 minute periods once a day for each user. (Especially in summer months when lines are long.) Children 18 or younger need to have a parental permission slip signed to use the public access computers. The library does not have wireless or personal laptop internet access.

I am in a wheelchair can I access the library?

There is a wheelchair ramp at the front entrance and an entrance from the back parking lot into the basement meeting room area.

What time is the Earthquake movie?

The Earthquake movie shows daily from Memorial Day thru Labor Day, M-Sat at 2:00 p.m. Cost is $3.00 per person with children under 12 free.
