Administration is committed to developing effective public policy
rooted in citizen involvement the end result of which is excellent
municipal services and a thriving community prepared for the
challenges of the future.

Providing the Seward community with a full spectrum of building
safety services.

The City Clerk is a contract employee and is hired by the City
Council to provide administrative services to the city council. The
office of the city clerk operates as a separate entity from the
Administration and other city departments.

Providing community resource information services relating to the
orderly development of the community.

Providing quality electric service at a reasonable cost to the
customers.

The City of Seward Finance Department will answer your questions
about the city's budget, capital projects, annual financial reports,
utility payments, city payroll, taxes, accounts receivable, grants,
leases, assessments, collections, and more.

Dedicated to the protection of life and property through
prevention, education, and emergency response.

Seward is home to the Alaska SeaLife Center, the newest and
largest marine research center in Alaska. There are over 100 charter
boat operators and a dozen day tour operators in the harbor to help
you enjoy your visit to the fullest extent possible.

The Seward Community Library offers both physical and virtual
materials in a safe, secure facility. Serving the educational and
informational needs of our patrons, our 4595 library cardholders
have access to 30,000 volumes including videos, recorded books, and
music, computer CD's and DVD's.

SPRD offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor
programs/activities for all ages, abilities and activity-levels.

SPD operates a community jail and dispatches for an ambulance
corps, three fire departments, Alaska State Troopers, Coast Guard,
Forest Service, Park Service, Alaska Railroad, Harbor Master, and
Seward Public Utilities. The Agency is the hub in all emergency
situations, coordinating all emergency services and civil defense.

Responsible for operations of the Street Department, Shop
Department, Snow and Ice Department, Municipal Buildings, Community
Center, Water Department and Sewer Department.
