City Clerk

Mission Statement

To conduct the duties of the office of city clerk in a professional, fair, impartial and friendly manner that ensures confidence in working with government, and provide an effective link between the community, governmental agencies and our elected officials.

About the office of the City Clerk

The City Clerk is a contract employee and is hired by the City Council to provide administrative services to the city council. The office of the city clerk operates as a separate entity from the Administration and other city departments.

Other Duties of the City Clerk

• Acts as parliamentarian advisor for meetings.
• Keeps a record of meetings and authenticates legislative history.
• Acts as custodian of the records of the city by adopting records retention schedules, and managing inventory and destruction.
• Administers all elections.
• Publishes legal notices as required.
